Maybe you can figure out a name if you work on a story.

The starting town is pretty much little edited. Try changing the shape more, and remove the sea on the right side. Also, change the connection, like make the first route south of the starting town.. etc. For a name, Pokemon Jewel Secrets, Pokemon Western Journey, Pokemon Infinite Past...

I don't think there are tutorials for Gold, but there are tools here: http://www.pokecommunity.com/showthread.php?t=134016. And, if you want any other tool, I might have it.

Anyways, about the tutorial, try google, and search for what do you want to edit. Like, scripting.
