Is mapping for your game harder than rom hacking?

Re: MMO Concepts
vagely, but C++ isnt what we use, we try to make game making simplified and easier like our mapping systems are on the easiest engine we could find.
i might go and learn C++ when im in University but its not a priority

Re: MMO Concepts
Ah, C++ is painful, too much i prefer python or c# but none of its really needed for the games we work on, the engines compile the binary etc etc themselfs and have their own scripting languages, cool to hear about your dad though.
If you do wanna help out im sure i could find lots of jobs (mainly mapper) but ill need to run it through with viktan first

Re: MMO Concepts
Lol, I remember have a pretty big team for a hack, but I don't think it got very far, I'm not even doing that hack anymore. For my new hack, I have two scripters (including me)

Re: MMO Concepts
After you learn scripting and the way with Advance Map, it should be easier. When I started I only knew how to map, the I learned how to insert tiles, then I learned to script.

Re: MMO Concepts
I thought it would be easier since in roms we have something to base our stuff on, but on new games, it would be hard to start from scratch.
